Lex app terms and conditions

What is the Lex app

The Lex app is built and developed with ‘Caura’.  And with MMV – Manage My Vehicle, if you have a personal contract hire vehicle through a broker with us you can view and manage certain information about your lease.  Such as:

• View your monthly rental, term of your lease and payment details by linking to the Lease Module
• Search for new or replacement vehicles
• Check your individual eligibility for a new or replacement lease
• Access additional independent third party services provided by Caura – including city and road charges, tolls, insurance and MOTs. 

We call this service the “Lex app” in these terms. 

Who we’re talking about

“You” means the person using the Lex app

“We”, “us” or “our” means Lex Autolease Limited. 

Lex Autolease Limited is a vehicle lease provider.  We are registered in England and Wales under company number 1090741.  Our registered office is 25 Gresham Street, London, EC2V 7HN.

We are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under registration number 723570 for credit related regulated activities and insurance mediation.

Third-parties - Some services available through the Lex App are provided by Caura and third parties. These services are separate from our services and your lease with Lex Autolease and are subject to their own terms and conditions.

Services Powered by Caura

When you see “Powered by Caura” in the Lex app, it means:

• The service is provided and managed by Caura
• Any payments you make are processed by Caura or as Caura acting as your agent
• Lex Autolease is not responsible for that service, and has no involvement or responsibility for the provision and delivery of these services.

Caura Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 11520538.

Its registered office is 1 Horse Guards Avenue, London, SW1A 2HU.

Caura is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority under registration number 923662.

When you see any screen and/or use service that is “Powered by Caura”, Caura’s own terms and privacy policy apply. These will be clearly marked and shown to you before you use those services.

Using the Lex app - what you need to know

To use the Lex app, you need:

• An iPhone running iOS 12 or later, or an Android phone running Android 9 or later 
• Permission to use the device and to only access your account
• To be aged 18 or over and live in the United Kingdom
• To be the registered keeper of the vehicle or have their permission to do so
• To lease a personal contract hire vehicle through a broker
• To use the Lex app in a lawful and acceptable way 
• To follow Apple App Store or Google Play Store rules
• Have internet access, which may incur network charges 

Lease Module

Once you have downloaded the Lex app, add your Lex vehicle to link your Lex leased vehicle. This allows you to link through to MMV and see the various lease and payment information. 

Vehicle renewals and commission

If you renew or replace a vehicle through an offer in the Lex app, Caura and your broker will act as credit brokers and introduce you to us.

In these cases:

• Caura will receive a fixed commission of £30
• The broker will receive a fixed commission of £750
• The commission amount does not change based on vehicle price or lease payments

If you are an individual customer, we will tell you about the commission and ask for your consent before you go ahead.

Your data and privacy

How we’ll get in touch with you

We’ll communicate in English and may get in contact by:

• Email
• SMS
• Push notification
• Other suitable messaging services

It’s important to keep your contact and vehicle details up to date so you don’t miss any messages from us. And you should  notify us of any discrepancies. You must keep your details confidential and not share your account and password with anyone else. Please get in touch if you have a questions or concerns.

Powered by Caura service queries

Complaints about Caura services should be raised directly with Caura in the Lex app or via email

We may monitor and record online sessions with you to make sure we’ve carried out your instructions correctly and check our service.

Changes to the Lex App or these terms

We may change the Lex app or these terms to reflect changes in law, regulation or how the Lex app works at any time.

We’ll tell you about significant changes.

If you carry on using the Lex app after a change, we’ll treat this as your acceptance of the updated terms.

Ending use of the Lex App

You can stop using the Lex app at any time.  We may stop or limit your access if:

• You breach these terms
• You breach Caura’s terms when using their services
• You use the Lex app in an unacceptable or unlawful way

Other things you need to know

No charges - We don’t charge you to use the Lex app. Charges or commission may apply for services provided by Caura or other third parties.

Location - You can use the Lex app outside the UK. You’re responsible for following any local laws that apply.

Software - You must not copy, modify or reverse engineer the Lex app or its software.  And you shouldn’t allow someone else to do the same.  The Lex app and Caura may, from time to time, use open-source software.

Intellectual property - All trademarks, logos and content in the Lex app belong to us, Caura or our partners. You don’t have permission to use them outside the Lex app and you cannot copy, transfer or otherwise access them.

Transferring this agreement - We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms. This won’t affect your rights.

Third party links - The Lex app may link to third party websites or services. We’re not responsible for them.

Liability - We’re responsible for providing the Lex app. We’re not responsible for services provided by Caura or other third parties. We exclude all liabilities for any losses, costs and expenses. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the law.

The law – The Lex app and these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes can be brought in the UK courts.
