We hope you're enjoying your new lease vehicle. Here are some things you'll need to know.

Maintaining your vehicle

Keeping on top of your vehicle maintenance will help you avoid additional charges at the end of your agreement.

You’ll need to:

  • Make sure it’s regularly serviced - check the manufacturer guidelines for how often you need to book in a service
  • Keep a service record - we’ll need this when you hand your vehicle back, and you'll be charged if you don't have one
  • Regularly check the condition of your vehicle - check tyre tread depth, fluid levels, and use the handbook to understand any warning lights
  • Arrange an MOT by the third anniversary of its registration or a year after its last MOT (if it’s over 3 years old, or 4 years in Northern Ireland). You can check your MOT expiry date on GOV.UK
  • Make sure you have comprehensive vehicle insurance If you have any questions about maintaining your vehicle, please refer to your manufacturer.

How to book a service, tyres, a repair, or an MOT if you have maintenance included

If you chose to include our maintenance package as part of your agreement, you’re covered for the cost of servicing your vehicle and some repairs.

It  includes routine servicing, parts and labour, the MOT cost, and failed or worn tyres from normal wear and tear. Check your agreement for anything that isn't covered, and to see if you have breakdown cover.

How to book a service, tyres, a repair, or an MOT if you don't have maintenance

You’ll need to cover the cost of servicing, breakdown and repairing the vehicle, including tyre repairs or replacements, and MOTs yourself.

Make sure any servicing or repairs follow the manufacturer’s guidelines and use genuine manufacturer parts, so we recommend using an approved service dealer.

If you need to replace the vehicle’s tyres, choose a reliable company.
