Government changes to road tax
Changes to road tax exemptions for low-emission and electric vehicles came into effect in April 2025.
All our zero and low-emission vehicles are now liable for the yearly road tax charge, which is a minimum of £240 (£200 plus VAT) for the tax year 2026/2027.

Does the road tax change affect you?
Yes, if we gave you a zero or low-emission vehicle quote before October 2023
The government told us in October 2023 that road tax would be payable for EVs from April 2025. So, if you had a zero or low emission vehicle quote before October 2023, the cost of the road tax wouldn't have been included in your quote, because it was zero.
When we renew the road tax on your vehicle, we'll send you an invoice for the full amount plus VAT. The road tax amounts are different for every vehicle, but the minimum amount in tax year 2025/26 will be £240 (£200 plus VAT).
If you pay by direct debit, we’ll take the payment automatically.
If you end your contract earlier than planned, just let us know. We’ll refund you for any unused whole months of road tax after you return the vehicle.

When we gave you a quote, we included the total cost of road tax for the length of your lease.
The government changes the cost of road tax annually. So, we'll invoice you for the difference if road tax increases and, in the unlikely event it decreases, we'll refund you the difference.
