Money worries

How we can support you

Ways we can help you

How we can help depends on your situation and the stage you're at in your agreement. Sometimes we're not able to help you with your payments, but we can tell you about charities and organisations who can support you.

Here are some examples of support we may be able to give you, after we talk through your circumstances first:

  • A temporary payment plan could help you get back on track, if you're eligible for this.

  • We may be able to give you some time to get independent help and advice by placing a short-term hold on the number of communications we send you. If we can offer this, you'll still need to make your monthly payments so you don't miss any, but you can take the time and space to get some independent help and advice, and make sure your priority payments are up to date.

  • Explain how you can return the vehicle to us, and what this means for your agreement.

We’d really like to talk to you so that we can understand the best way to help and support you. When we speak, we can look at your financial situation and any options available based on what you can afford.

We may be able to agree a repayment plan to help you to keep the vehicle. The help we can offer depends on your situation and what stage you’re at in your agreement. We’d need to assess your financial commitments to make sure any payment plan is affordable for you.

It’s important to understand that we must tell the credit reference agencies if you miss payments. This may make it difficult for you to get credit in the future.

You can set up a Direct Debit if you don't already have one. You can do this online through Manage my Vehicle and go to My Payments.

Sometimes it can be difficult if your salary date doesn’t match your payment date. If you’d like to see if we’re able to change this for you, please call us on 0800 302 9160.

If you get paid weekly, you could set up a standing order with your bank to make payments more manageable. Use our bank details as follows:

  • Account name: Lex Autolease Ltd
  • Bank name: Lloyds Bank
  • Sort code: 30-00-00
  • Account number: 00241229

You’ll need to make sure that your weekly payments cover the full amount you’ve agreed to pay us, and that it reaches us by your monthly due date.

You could think about lowering your monthly repayment by reducing the expected mileage or extending the end of contract date. You can apply to do this online at Manage My Vehicle or by calling us on 0344 879 6633. If you apply, we’ll run a credit check to make sure your payments are still affordable.

Our budgeting tool may be a useful way to help you to understand your income and outgoings. Why not have a go at completing our budget calculator first, so you’re able to tell us more about your income and spending. It’s likely to save you more time when you call and help us to find the best support for you. Don’t forget to make a note of your reference number after you’ve completed the form for when you call.

(Right click and select open in a new tab to start the calculator.)

If you don’t want to use the budgeting tool and would prefer to give us a call, then it will help if you can make sure you’ve got the following to hand:

  • Your account number or fleet number
  • The registration for your vehicle
  • How much money you have coming in each month
  • How much money you spend each month
  • What you pay to others
  • A pen and paper to jot things down

You may be thinking about handing the vehicle back earlier and ending your agreement with us. We’re happy to talk to you about this and explain the options available to you. We can also confirm any outstanding amounts you’d need to pay to end your agreement early. You can do this online at Manage My Vehicle or by calling us on 0344 879 6633.
